Solid Rain

Solid rain, a pseudo-clay type formulation developed by a chemical engineer, is touted as being environmentally non-aggressive since it's made of hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen & potassium, but who really knows.  A product that is not water soluble but holds lots of water for long periods of time, though I wouldn't want to try it as a thirst quencher, solid rain seems to be helpful in maintaing plant growth in periods of drought.
