Free Rice

Freerice.com is a sort of jeopardy type game site developed by John Breen in 2007 that he donated to the WFP in 2009  and since 2010 has been included  social networking as part of its marketing strategy. The aim of the game is to answer questions correctly - identifying world flags or capitals, math sums, chemistry symbols, English vocab, or learning new words in German, Spanish, Italian or French. Odd as it may see, correct answers give ten grains of rice toward "ending world hunger." Those grains are distributed through the United Nation's World Food Program and paid for by advert in banners that appear in tandem with a correct answer. All the rice for 2011 is being donated to Haiti but past recipients include: Bangladesh, Cambodia, Uganda, Nepal, Myanmar and Bhutan.

It takes about 20,000 grains to feed one adult for one day so get playing (and consider it a productive fb alternative)!
